My instacart shopper accidentally left the paper receipt with me and the difference between instacart's "online prices" vs. "actual store prices" was a $45 markup on $130 worth of groceries.

When I called to complain, M.C. felt the need "educate" me on how it works. She did not offer to refund me, she only told me repeatedly that I was "uneducated" regarding instacart and that the shopper should not have left the receipt with me. Well the shopper did.

And the mark up is so excessive I consider it robbery. The description of the difference between the prices on their website made it seem like it would be slightly variable, not a 35% mark-up on everything.

Product or Service Mentioned: Instacart Delivery Service.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $31.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I appreciate your review. it seems there is no way to work with these contractors because they plan to cheat the customer from the start.


You are correct supermarkets don't pass the saving to instacart customers and instacart marks up the food. You know that instacart also keeps 80%of the shopper tips?
